Brittany Runaas is a Board Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor with over seven years of clinical experience practicing in a variety of settings within Southeastern Wisconsin.
Brittany received her Masters of Science in Art Therapy with a Concentration in Counseling from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI. She utilizes both the creative process and therapeutic interventions to foster relationships with her clients that help promote change, personal growth, and healing. She strongly believes in a holistic approach to treatment to not only address the presenting problem, but also how it impacts the individual’s mental, emotional, and physical health, as well as their relationships and surrounding environment. Brittany also believes that everyone has an inherent need to create, and it is her passion to help individuals cultivate their own creativity, in whatever form, within their life.
Brittany enjoys working with young adults and adult women in both group and individual settings. Her focus includes an arts-based approach using the creative process and/or experiential based therapies, in addition to traditional talk therapy with an emphasis on creative problem-solving, person-centered, and strengths-based approaches by empowering clients to access the skills they already possess to make changes in their lives. Brittany values developing relationships with her clients by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space and offers authentic support, empathy, and compassion.
Her past experiences include working with individual struggling with eating disorders in an outpatient setting and facilitating several groups within both the IOP and PHP levels of care at The REDI Clinic of Wauwatosa. Prior to joining The REDI Clinic team, Brittany gained experience working with individuals and families impacted by eating, mood, and anxiety disorders as a Child and Adolescent Program Therapist in both the PHP and Residential levels of care at Rogers Behavioral Health in Oconomowoc, WI.
