CLARA Healing Institute is proud to serve families and children across the lifespan using an integrative attachment-based, trauma-informed, sensorimotor, and positive parenting model. We understand that mental health, developmental, and emotional concerns in children often surface as difficult behaviors. Children often express their emotional experiences through difficult and confusing behaviors. We are committed to being a judgement free space for children and families, as judgment impedes healing and setting healthy limits. We will work with you from a WHOLE BRAIN, mind-body perspective to better understand your child, foster healthy development, and prevent the development of mental health issues in the future.
We also understand that in order to do this work well, we need a space that is conducive to the creative and kinesthetic (movement) work of children. We invite them to play, make art, sing, dance, move, meditate, and engage with the space in a variety of ways. CLARA’s state of the art Expressive Arts Therapies room, comfortable offices, and waiting area create an inviting space for your child to safely explore their emotions and practice new behavioral skills.
Additionally, we implement evidence-based practices rooted in multiple disciplines when working with children. Neuroscience research shows that attuned parental engagement is crucial for child development. This means that therapy is most successful when families are directly involved in therapy, learning skills and self-reflecting right alongside their child. Our goal is to make therapy a positive, engaging, and fulfilling experience that your child looks forward to, and values for years to come. This will look different for every child, and we look forward to creating a healing space for your family.
